Mrs. Eucharia Obianuju Chimezie, foundly called ADAIFE by her family, friends, business partners and well-wishers was born on April 16, 1966. She was the youngest daughter and her father’s beloved child in the esteemed family of Late Mr. Fidelis and Mrs. Victoria Nnodu of Umuezena Umudim, Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra State.
From an early age, Eucharia displayed a remarkable zest for life, marked by diligence, kindness and a quiet sense of purpose. She was full of life and possessed wisdom beyond her years, often showing signs of maturity and responsibility uncommon for her age. As youngest daughter in the family, she was deeply loved, yet she carried herself with humility, grace and respect for family values. She attended the prestigious Maria Regina High School, Nnewi in the year 1980 through 1985 where she finished her High School Education.
Her faith took root early in life, as she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to God, nurturing a deep spiritual foundation that would guide her throughout her life. Even as a young girl, she expressed a desire to touch lives and make a positive difference wherever she found herself, a calling she lived out fully in later years. She was a woman of strength, warmth and unwavering love. A devoted Catholic, her life was anchored in faith, family and genuine care for everyone around her. She consistently put her children first, embodying the true essence of selfless motherhood. More than a protector, she was a source of comfort, guidance and stability to her family and all who came into her life.

Mrs. Eucharia Obianuju Chimezie was hardworking and enterprising woman whose life exemplified resilience, discipline and purpose. At a time when many women were into the conventional roles, she boldly carved a path for herself in business, determined to contribute meaningfully to her family and society.
She learned the art of trade early in life and ventured into motor spare parts business, a field largely dominated by men. Through diligence, integrity, and consistency, she built a reputable and thriving enterprise, which she successfully managed for over thirty five years. Her business acumen, perseverance, and customer centered approach earned her respect and trust within the trade community.
Never satisfied with standing still, Mrs. Chimezie continually sought ways to expand her knowledge and serve humanity better. She later pursued formal training in Pax Herbal Medication, through which she became widely known for her ability to proscribe effective remedies for various ailments. Over the years, she touched countless lives, bringing healing, hope and relief to many who sought her counsel and care.
In addition to her personal ventures, she contributed significantly to the growth and success of the family business, JOEEUCHARIS LIMITED, standing as a strong pillar of support to her husband. She also devoted herself to mentoring and training young boys under her care, many who have grown into responsible and successful men today.
A woman of unshakable faith and focus, Mrs. Eucharia Obianuju Chimezie believed deeply that with God, determination and hard work, nothing was impossible. Whatever she set her mind to achieve, she pursue with courage and unwavering confidence, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, empowerment and service.
MOTHERHOOD AND FAMILY LIFE
Mrs. Eucharia Obianuju Chimezie was united in marriage on February 8, 1986 to Mr. Joseph Chukwunwendu Chimezie at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Yaba Lagos, and together they built a home rooted in love, faith, discipline and selfless service. She was a devoted wife, nurturing mother, caring aunty, supportive sister and an influential leader whose life touched many within and beyond her family.
Her deep love for God was evident in her daily and unwavering commitment to faith. A devoted Catholic, she attends morning Mass daily and participated actively in Church activities. Her faith formed the spiritual backbone of her home and guided every decision she made.
She was blessed with five children whom she loved and nurtured with unwavering devotion. She nurtured and raised other children as her own as well. As a mother, she was protective, prayerful and deeply sacrificial, always placing her children’s needs above her own. She guided them with wisdom, discipline and compassion, raising them to value hard work, integrity, humility and respect for God and humanity.
Family values and traditions were central to her home. She upheld unity, mutual respect and responsibility, ensuring that love, prayer and togetherness remained constant in the household; installing discipline through service to others. Her home was a place of peace, structured and spiritual selfless protector, a prayerful guide and the unwavering pillar of family, whose love, strength and sacrifices continue to shape their lives.
LEADERSHIP, PASSION AND IMPACT ON FAMILY, FRIENDS AND COMMUNITY
Mrs. Eucharia Obianuju Chimezie (Adaife) was a woman of rare character, defined by integrity, humility and devotion to service. She lived with strength and purpose, choosing substance over show and principle over praise. Her life reflected discipline, honesty and a deep sense of responsibility to God, family and humanity.
She was deeply passionate about helping others. Often placing the needs of others above her own comfort. Whether through business, her healing work, or her acts of kindness, she was always ready to offer support, guidance and practical assistance. She found fulfillment not in recognition, but in knowing that lives were touched, burden erased, and hope restored.
Her faith was central to her life and was expressed through active and selfless service within the church. Over the years, every first Friday, she faithfully conveyed the Catholic Priest St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Yaba, Lagos in company of the Legionary coordinator and other legionaries on visit to the sick and aged. During these visits, prayers were offered, and comfort was extended to those in need. This ministry was one she carried out with deep commitment, compassion and humility.
Mrs. Eucharia Obianuju Chimezie served actively in numerous Catholic Churches and community organizations. On 4th December 2004, she was initiated into the Life Membership of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO), Catholic Diocese of Nnewi. She was the last President of the defunct Nnewi Youth League, Lagos Branch, and now Nnewi United Development Association (NUDA). She was awarded certificate of honor by C.W.O St. Monica’s Catholic Parish, Umuezena, Umudim Nnewi, and the name ADAIFE was coined on 14th August, 2005. She was awarded certificate of Holy Pilgrimage in Jerusalem on 12th June, 2005. Umudim Nnewi Development Association Lagos branch awarded her a certificate in recognition of her Exellent outstanding exemplary leadership as Chairperson from 2005-2008 in appreciation on 2nd December 2012. She was awarded honorary award of EZINNE at St. Michael De Archangel Parish, Umudim Nnewi on 29th September, 2013. Lagos Archdiocesan Laity Council presented her with LEADWERSHIP Award for Outstanding Vision, Dedication and Commitment to Excellence on 15th March, 2020. She was the founding member of Dimkwa Development Association Women’s Wing (DDAWW) Lagos Branch, where she served as President and Secretary for 15 years plus. St. Michael’s Catholic Women Organization meetings were held at her Lagos home for decades. Dimkwa Development Association Award was presented to Mrs. Eucharia for her selfless service, financial and spiritual contributions to the growth and development of the Association and community, she got recognition as honorary senior member of thirty years plus on 27th November, 2025.
She joined the supernumerary of Opus Dei from 2001 till 2026, living out her Christian vocation through daily work, service and devotion. Through these roles, she fostered unity, supported community development, and encourage spiritual growth among members.
Within her family, she was a source of wisdom, stability and peace. She was known for her calm counsel, protective nature and ability to hold the family together through prayers, patience and love. To her friends, she was loyal, trustworthy and dependable. A woman whose word could be relied upon, and whose presence brings reassurance.
Her impact extended to wider community, where she was respected for her generosity, sincerity, and commitment to service. Many remember her as a woman who lived quietly, yet powerfully, leaving footprints of kindness wherever she went. Her life remains a testimony that true impact is not measured by noise or popularity, but by depth of love, faith and service poured into others.
Mrs. Eucharia Obianuju Chimezie’s character and passion continue to inspire her family and community, and her memory will forever be cherished.
