The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has advised its members nationwide to obtain Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, citing expectations that the refinery’s supply and pricing framework will help moderate petrol prices across the country.
According to the association, sourcing fuel locally from the Dangote facility is expected to reduce distribution costs associated with importation, foreign exchange exposure, and logistical delays. IPMAN officials expressed optimism that increased availability of locally refined PMS would promote market stability and make petrol more affordable for consumers.
The association noted that the refinery’s entry into the domestic fuel market represents a significant step toward improving energy security and reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imported petroleum products. By encouraging marketers to patronize the refinery, IPMAN believes the downstream sector will benefit from a more predictable supply chain and pricing system.
Industry observers say sustained supply from the Dangote Refinery could play a crucial role in easing pressure on petrol prices, particularly if distribution networks function efficiently and competition within the market increases.
