The Implication of Calling the Name of God on Believers: A Spiritual Reawakening

To speak the name of the Almighty God is to summon the ultimate authority of the universe.

It is not a casual exclamation or a protective charm to ward off bad luck. When you call upon His name, you enter a blood-bought covenant that binds your personal identity to His absolute holiness as Paul – the Apostle of Christ Jesus, aptly reminds us in 2 Timothy 2:19:

“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” [KJV]

“…’Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.'”
[NKJV]

“…’Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.'” [NIV]

The Weight of the Name

Calling God’s name acts like a spiritual lighthouse. It exposes the hidden cracks in our character. It leaves no room for casual compromise.

The Mirror of Truth

You cannot truly encounter His name and remain comfortable in your compromises. A spiritual reawakening begins when the lips that praise Him on Sunday convict us of the wickedness, gossip, pride, bitterness, anger, grudges or unforgiveness we harbor all week.

For clarity, naming the name of the Lord as a Believer involves the following:

* It demands alignment:
Your daily conduct must match your vocal confessions.

* It shatters pretense:
God sees past religious routines straight into secret motives.

* It forces a choice:
You must either abandon the sin or drop the title.

*Turning Shadows into Light

True revival does not come from emotional highs or eloquent preaching. It sparks the moment a believer looks at a hidden habit, a toxic attitude, greed, grudge, bitterness, unforgiveness, anger, ego, pride, jealousy and wickedness, or a crime, and immoral addiction, and declares: “This cannot live under the same roof as the name I carry.”

My dear brothers and sisters,
Genuine repentance as advised by Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 2:19 is our exit strategy from the kingdom of darkness. It clears out the wreckage of compromise so the Holy Spirit can move freely in our lives – to guide, protect and empower us for great exploits in life.

The goodnews is that it is NEVER too late to do the right thing!

Prayers

Dear God, Jehovah El Kanna

Let Your name be a consuming fire in the soul of every Believer today. Burn away every double-minded thought, every secret compromise, and every shadow of hypocrisy, so that we do not use Your name as a cover for our old sinful nature.

Please take total ownership of our thoughts and hearts.

Father, Jehovah El Roi

Please give us the supernatural courage to cut ties with whatever displeases You, and grant us a holy distaste for sin and iniquity. Let our feet move swiftly away from temptation, and anchor our mind in Your absolute truth.

Father, Jehovah Nissi

Please let Your Holy Spirit seal our hearts and mind for Your glory alone, so that the life we live reflect the purity of the Almighty God we serve.
May Your name be glorified through our actions and inactions, our speech, and the way we show love and forgiveness, henceforth.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ.
Amen 🙏

Shallom!
